FAQ category 01

Pricing explained

Digital signage pricing is project-specific because hardware, brightness, size, mounting, content management, installation and support all affect the final scope.

How much does a digital signage display cost?

There is no single useful price for every project. Screen size, brightness, operating duty, indoor or outdoor protection, touchscreen capability, player, enclosure and quantity all influence the equipment cost. Installation, content, CMS and support may be scoped separately.

What information is needed for an accurate quotation?

Share the display type or objective, site location, indoor or outdoor use, approximate size, quantity, orientation, operating hours, mounting, connectivity, content workflow and required installation date. Photographs or drawings can help.

Is the lowest-cost display the best value?

Not necessarily. Compare suitability, brightness, duty cycle, warranty, installation, content workflow, maintenance access and expected operating life. A lower purchase price can create higher lifecycle cost if the product is poorly matched to the environment.

Are installation and CMS included in the display price?

They should be confirmed in the project quotation. Hardware supply, mounting, electrical or data work, CMS licences, content creation, commissioning and maintenance can have different scopes and commercial terms.

FAQ category 02

LCD digital advertising displays

Commercial LCD signage covers standard, high-brightness, touch, outdoor, transparent and specialist display formats.

What makes a commercial LCD different from a consumer television?

Commercial displays are specified around factors such as duty cycle, orientation, brightness, mounting, control, connectivity and managed content. Exact capabilities differ by model and should be confirmed before specification.

Which LCD display is suitable for a shop window?

A high-brightness window display is usually the relevant starting point. The final brightness depends on ambient light, orientation, glass, distance from the window and whether direct sunlight reaches the screen.

Can LCD displays be used outdoors?

Yes, when the selected product and enclosure are designed for outdoor exposure. Brightness, ingress protection, temperature management, mounting and electrical safety must be appropriate to the site.

Can an LCD screen work in portrait orientation?

Many commercial signage displays support portrait and landscape use, but orientation and duty cycle should be confirmed for the exact model. Content must also be designed for the chosen format.

FAQ category 03

LED digital advertising displays

Direct-view LED is a modular display technology suited to large, bright, seamless and custom-shaped installations.

What pixel pitch should I choose for an LED screen?

Pixel pitch should be selected with the closest and typical viewing distances, content detail, physical size and budget. Smaller pixel pitch supports closer viewing but should not be chosen without considering the complete application.

Can LED screens be curved or built into unusual shapes?

Selected flexible, cabinet and custom LED systems can create curves, corners, L-shaped installations, stretched formats and other architectural canvases. Feasibility depends on modules, structure and service access.

What is required for an outdoor LED installation?

The project should assess brightness, cabinet and module protection, structural engineering, wind loading where relevant, electrical design, ventilation, controller location, drainage and safe maintenance access.

Does LED signage need special content?

Content should be created for the final pixel dimensions, aspect ratio, viewing distance and brightness. Large LED canvases often work best with clear composition, deliberate motion and type sized for the audience.

FAQ category 04

Advertising displays & technologies

Specialist options include e-paper, electronic shelf labels, electroluminescent graphics, lenticular effects, light boxes, hologram fans and custom stands.

When should I consider e-paper or electronic shelf labels?

They are relevant when low power consumption, clear static information and remote price or product updates are priorities. Refresh behaviour, colour requirements, integration and viewing conditions should be assessed.

What is a lenticular display?

Lenticular graphics use a lens surface and interlaced imagery to create effects such as depth or image change as the viewer moves. They can create visual motion without a conventional digital screen.

Are 3D hologram fans actual holograms?

They use rapidly rotating LED blades and precisely timed imagery to create a floating-image illusion. Safe mounting, viewing distance, brightness and content preparation are important.

Can display stands and enclosures be customised?

Custom display stands can be developed around screen size, brand presentation, physical environment, access, cooling, cabling and fabrication requirements, subject to feasibility and project scope.

FAQ category 05

General digital signage questions

These answers cover content updates, CMS operation, installation and preparing an effective project brief.

How is digital signage content updated?

Compatible displays may support USB updates or a networked CMS. A CMS can publish content remotely, schedule playlists, group screens and manage user permissions over an internet connection.

Can one CMS manage different screen types?

Compatible displays and media players can be organised within one workflow. Content layouts should still be adapted to each screen orientation, aspect ratio and role.

Does Glonits provide content, installation and maintenance?

Glonits offers design and build, content creation, CMS, installation and maintenance services. The exact scope is agreed around the project and site.

What should a digital signage brief include?

Describe the audience, objective, location, viewing distance, ambient light, operating hours, screen quantity, size, mounting, connectivity, content sources, publishing team, installation constraints and support expectations.
